Some of the most influential women on the African continent will headline this year’s Forbes Woman Africa Leading Women Summit that will coincide with the International Women’s Day commemorations on Wednesday in South Africa.

This year’s conference will be opened by South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor, while speakers include former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and deputy secretary-general of the United Nations and chairperson of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group Amina Mohammed.

Other speakers include Pan-African feminist and Tunisian diplomat Aya Chebbi, founder and chairperson of Bophelo Bioscience and Wellness Company Louisa Mojela, and Rwandan international football referee Salma Rhadia Mukansanga.

This year’s event will be held at SunBet Arena, Time Square, Pretoria, South Africa.

It will run under the theme “Women 3.0: The icons and ideas shaping Africa”.

“We are delighted to announce that Dr Naledi Pandor, South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Co-operation, will open this year’s conference.

“With a strong background in science and technology and as a formidable powerhouse in government, she will set the tone for what promises to be a powerful summit,” said “Forbes Africa” managing editor Ms Renuka Methil.

“She will be joined by other dynamic personalities, among them state leaders, representatives from the United Nations, and other influential members of the business, financial, health, fashion and non-profit sectors.

“This is certainly not a summit to be missed.”
