ZANU PF is focused on bringing development to the people after resoundingly winning the 2023 harmonised elections, a Cabinet Minister has said.

Speaking at a “Thank You” rally hosted by Murewa North legislator Cde Daniel Garwe at Dandara Village in the constituency,  Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera, who was guest of honour, said the ruling party is focused on transforming people’s lives.

“I want to thank you for your overwhelming vote for the party and President Mnangagwa. We should not be politicking about this but focus on development to make the lives of our citizens better,” she said.

She reassured the people of Murewa that President Mnangagwa is pulling all the stops to ensure that no one will starve.

“The President is seized with making sure no one will die of hunger this year. I think you have seen workers from the Department of Social Welfare recording names in this ward. No one will be left behind in this programme.

“The President has also brought in the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme to make sure that you have safe drinking water. I think you have all seen that Muchinjike Clinic in this area now has tap water powered by solar. The President has also made sure that electricity reaches the people. Transformers have already been delivered into this area,” she said.

Under the Second Republic, Minister Mavetera added, youths and women have also been empowered.

In his address, Cde Garwe, who is also ZANU PF Mashonaland East chairperson and Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities, said: “The elections are gone, now it’s time to build the nation. Let’s unite and work together as a family for us to prosper.”
