Hunt for greatness- Milton Kamwendo
You have greatness in you. You are larger than your doubts and most dreadful fears. You are a child of God, with a purpose and playing a part within the greater whole.
Declare boldly your message and live out your purpose. Do not spend time fumbling for purpose and taking pains at lending a halo effect to your calling. Just work at what you do as though that is your purpose. Serve as though that is your ultimate. Give value using a shovel and not a tea-spoon. Bring energy and passion into every transaction you engage in.
With your words you weave your life experiences. With your thoughts you are threading your world together. You are a walking powerhouse, filled with awesome potential and opening doors of greatness. You have awesome power. Do not let your environment tempt you to stop believing in greatness. Do not let history rob you of your imagination. Do not let negativity put your mind to sleep. Open your eyes and you will see opportunity all around you. Great things are your birthright and are being done through you.
Keep dreaming despite the nightmares that you have had. Dream in colour and not grey-scales of defeat, doubt and negativity. Elevate your dreams beyond the fog of doubt. Dream great dreams that scare you a little. Without stretch you will never grow or tone any muscle. There is nothing small about your life that you have to choose to make everything about you micro. Do not go micro when you can be macro. Everything you need to become great is already waiting for you to show-up, pray-up and act-up. Nothing happens while you sleep and wait for change.
Popular teaching is that you are striving for greatness. The reality is that greatness is the one looking for you. It is just wishing that you would knock. Get up and start doing and moving. You have to take charge of your thoughts and actions. The room is ready for you to make something great happen. Do not wait for what you cannot change. Do not wait for events that have nothing to do with you. Do not wait for a train that is not coming. Do not wait for change of anything. Be the catalyst, take action and start moving.
You are like an air-worthy aeroplane, made to fly long distances. Stopping letting discouraging conversations make you lose your trajectory. Get in motion and take off to some worthy destination. Taxi off to the runway of your life: move into position, gear your mind for the take-off. Rise high above the clouds of negativity. Rise about your challenges and fears. The higher up your rise, the bigger the horizon that you will see and the ever-widening canvas of possibilities appear.
If you feel crowded and disenfranchised, you may be flying too close to the ground of popular opinion. Rise to a new place and new possibilities. Do not waste time being angry and bitter with others, whoever they are or whatever role they play in the drama triangle. Direct all that energy towards greatness. Think only great thoughts. Make only great plans. Now, surge forward with drive and determination; run hard and take off to your greatness.
You do not belong where mediocrity sings lonely, long songs of moaning, complaining and choruses of prolonged disaffection. You are too busy to be bored and too focused to waste precious time in purposeless debates and fruitless pursuits. Focus your efforts and energies of spirit, body, mind and soul. Waste no more time in idle despair, carrying bitterness and fighting petty energy-sapping fights. Running with agility and you will take off. If you have to wear blinkers, wear them if they will give you ferocious focus. Your focus is your asset and power source.
Take action. The best way to start is by starting. Get into the ring, get on to the runway, start the flywheel of action spinning. Anytime you have an opportunity to take positive and progressive action – seize it. Move and the whole universe will move with you. Take action and miracles start happening. People of action are needed everywhere. Movers and shakers are more valuable than moaners and complainers. Creators are more valuable than destroyers. Cut the drama start the action. Do not let by-standers discourage you. Do not stop acting and making a difference simply because other people have grown cold and cynical. Every step you take gets amplified. Every see you sow start is a harvest brewing.
Speak Greatness
Change your language and speak the language of greatness and possibility. Learn every language that you can learn. Best of all learn the power of words and the vocabulary of greatness. Use words that empower and inspired. Use words that motivate and move positive agenda. Eliminate the vitriol of hate and bitterness from your language. Use big bold and confident words.
Eliminate words that belittle you, depreciate your esteem and put down others. Use words to lift up and give life. Speak only life and make your words worth hearing.
When you have an opportunity to speak, always bless. Bless those that went before you. Bless those that inspire you. Bless those that give you opportunity. Bless those that challenge you. Bless even those that speak again you. Bless those that think that your light stops theirs from shining. Any time you have the opportunity to bless and encourage someone, do it like it is the last time you ever will. Your affirming word will carry someone far. You simple blessing is the missing link that someone is crying for.
Listen Greatness
Be a listener and keep refining your listening skills. Give attention to people. Everyone has a story to tell. Any time you are in the presence of someone, seek to listen and learn. Listen and you will learn a lot and hear a lot more. Do not waste time following the trails of gossip. Stop being busy with what you should be ignoring.
When you speak, you are likely sharing what you already know or at least re-arranging it. When you listen you get new insights and learn something new. You will not change parading the little you know in such a big world. You change by expanding your world of thought.
Pack more insights into your brain and it will never get heavier. Know something that you do not know now, and you will go somewhere you have never been. Be the one with the longest ears. Look, and ask. Listen and clarify. Learn and then seek new angles. When you open our ears to listen, your world will grow. When you open your eyes, your ideas with expand and the degrees of freedom for your greatness will expand. Open your ears and your soul, and many people will love you for it.
Read Greatness
Find time to read and you will grow. Invest in good reading and greatness will become easier. Any time you have the opportunity to buy a book, do not hesitate or put it off. You are investing in yourself. Buy books and keep them. Re-read those that you have read. Be inspired to read by the ones that you have not read. You do not read a book it is but as you are. Some books sit and wait patiently waiting for you to be ready. Some books are not to be read in little sips of inspiration are a great tonic to the soul.
Do not be disappointed because there are books you bought that you have not read. Be disappointed if you do not have any books in your library that you are yet to read.
Do not give away books because you have read them. A single read is never quite enough. Read with a marker and pen. You read best when you engage with the content you read. Read for pleasure, and read for refueling. Make friend with books and read widely and daily. Befriend people who read and be suspicious of those who do not. Do not keep fellowship with those who despise reading and triumph in that they stopped learning. The future belongs to the curious and ever-learning.
