CHICKEN INN coach Rahman Gumbo wants more of the same from his boys. Dr Rush was left convinced his team could go all the way and win the title after the Gamecocks shot to the summit of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table at Rufaro yesterday.

Skipper Moses Jackson headed home the winner after 63 minutes to condemn Black Rhinos to their fifth straight defeat. Chicken Inn are now on 45 points, two clear of Ngezi Platinum Stars who face a revived Caps United at the same venue this afternoon.

“Like I said, we are going for the championship and getting results from good teams like Rhinos shows the direction we are taking,” said Gumbo.

“We are still within our targets. Black Rhinos gave us a good run for our money but at the end of the day we came here to grind a result. Collecting points away from home is good for us.”

It was a balanced affair with action swinging from one end to the other. Black Rhinos coach Stanford “Stix” Mtizwa believes his team can rediscover the winning for-                   mula.

“The wheels are not coming off and I think the boys played very well. Unfortunately, we did not score, especially from the set pieces we got,” said the Black Rhinos gaffer.

“We are worried this is now our fifth straight defeat and we need to work on our finishing. We are still fighting relegation and the target is to reach 43 points.” Black Rhinos led the log standings at the halfway stage but they are now eighth with 31 points, 14 behind Chicken Inn.

Meanwhile, Bulawayo City edged Harare City 1-0 at Barbourfields courtesy of a 92nd minute strike from Ishmael Wadi.
