RAPHAEL MANUVIRE was on the brink of joining Triangle but a chat with Warriors coach Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa saw the 29-year-old opting for Dynamos.

“I had made a decision but just thought of seeking advice from Mhofu who coached me at ZPC Kariba and after chatting to the old man, joining DeMbare instead of Triangle made a lot of sense and that is what I decided to do,” revealed the forward. Manuvire, who is set to link up with his new teammates tomorrow after being given the week off, is confident of excelling under Mutasa.

“I will be joining the rest of the squad on Monday since I was given a week off to collect my things in Kariba and I am looking forward to being part of the team. It’s an exciting phase in my career because I can identify with the way Dynamos play under coach Mutasa.

“I also believe that the coach, whom I worked with at the Warriors, understands my play and there is nothing more that a player wants than playing for a coach who understands and believes in him,” he said.

Having played for Harare City and ZPC Kariba, clubs who paid their players on time, Manuvire must be aware of DeMbare’s history of erratic salary payments.

But a desire to win some silverware saw him settle for the 22 league title winners.

“At the end of the day, it is not about the money but the issue of winning trophies also plays a part and Dynamos is where I saw the opportunity.

“It’s a team with a history. Besides it has always been my wish to play for Dynamos and I promise the fans I will play to the best of my abilities and bring smiles to their faces,” he said.
