Several female readers shared the opinions from that article with their husbands. Unfortunately, some of the advice fell on deaf ears. Some were even angered. Fortunately redemption is on the way. It is about time men understood style and its importance. We therefore called in style experts to weigh in.

JanJam menswear boutique owner Cynthia Bizure-Sithole has now taken it upon her brand to celebrate authentic style by hosting a fashion showcase for men.

The red carpet, star-studded fashion showcase has been set for this Saturday at Maestro Restaurant’s Glass House.

For five years, JanJam has been converting ordinary men to Zimbabwean “stylistas” and style icons.

Bizure-Sithole believes Zimbabwean men have been adopting fashion trends and can continue doing so.

The red carpet event will have a formal dress code for all to be in the know of what’s on trend.

“The show will usher in new trends and also work as a basic style and trend guide to educate the men. The show will also work as a platform for JanJam menswear to showcase our product range to the people. After all our aim is to provide authentic style for real men,” she said.

It is curious though why as a woman, Bizure-Sithole chose men’s fashion and style for Zimbabwe.

“Men’s fashion is a niche market with a lot of potential, and that struck a nerve within me and made me develop a deep passion for it,” said Bizure-Sithole.

“It’s time people took notice of the potential in menswear as the fashion industry keeps growing. JanJam is there to encourage men to dress properly,” she said.

Having been operational for five years, JanJam is set to open stores in Harare’s Borrowdale suburb and in Masvingo.

At the fashion showcase, guests will be able to place orders and make customised orders.

The stock has different styles for everyone, from imported suits to exclusive Zimbabwean designer houses – the likes of Tapfumanei Munenge and Ngugi Vere.

The party season is upon us and we need to enjoy the party in style.

If you have a male counterpart or friend who is clueless about fashion, take them to Saturday’s event so that they are schooled on style.

There is hope for style among men, after all a well-dressed man complements a woman in a perfect way.
