A video clip in which rapper Stunner, real name Desmond Chideme, revealed that he is going to perform at an event that is being hosted by his former wife Olinda Chapel in the United Kingdom, has set tongues wagging.
Stunner and Olinda went their separate ways in March 2018. A businesswoman and philanthropist, Olinda is now married to musician Tytan Nkomo.
Stunner will be among the singers that are set to perform at Chapel’s UK High Tea event. The “Team Hombe” singer reckons there is nothing wrong with him meeting and working with his former wife.
He added that the arrangement with Chapel was strictly professional.
“I do not care what people think. I am working to put food on the table. If I do not work, I will not be able to smoke Shisha as I am doing now,” the controversial rapper said in a three-minute video clip. Stunner argued that if a couple divorces, this does not mean that the former lovers will automatically become enemies and will not work together.
“We went our separate ways but this does not mean that we cannot work together. It also does not mean that we are sworn enemies. In my case, I still maintain cordial relations with both Olinda and Tytan,” added Stunner.
He further said that as a musician, he survives by performing and declining such an offer because it is being hosted by his ex wife would be stupidity at its best.
A reunion with Olinda, he notes, is “impossible”.
“I sent them (Olinda and Tytan) a congratulatory message when they wed. I am actually going to give them their wedding presents when I get to the UK,” Stunner said.
However, some social media users are of a different opinion. They feel it is not “healthy” for the two to meet or work together.
“In my view, the marriage between Tytan and Olinda is a bit shaky. Remember the couple was, in 2018, involved in a nasty fight which nearly ended the union. Working with her ex is not the best thing for Olinda to do at the moment,” one blogger wrote.
Olinda and Tytan recently tied the knot and a wedding reception was held in the UK.
