President Mugabe is in South Africa on a State visit at the invitation of President Zuma.

“You (President Zuma) and I have given direction, by instructing that the Joint Commission for Cooperation be elevated to a Bi-National Commission, to be co-chaired by the two Heads of State.

“A new moment must now be generated at all levels, to ensure that projects and programmes that rise to this new level are implemented timeously and effectively.”

President Mugabe also said: “We want to expand our cooperation for the good of our people. We must engage more effectively in the economic, social and cultural domains, so as to raise our bilateral relationships to new levels.”
