Zimbabwe’s fastest-growing radio station Star FM was yesterday scheduled to broadcast from KwaZulu Natal, South Africa under Connecting Africa — an initiative geared towards promoting tourism and culture.

Broadcasts are running up to this Wednesday, with the station’s Grace “The Soul Sister” Chikaya scheduled to take the mic alongside presenters from Radio Phoenix (Zambia), East Coast Radio and Jacaranda FM (both South Africa).

Star FM communications and public relations manager Mrs Beatrice Tonhodzayi-Ngondo said: “This showcase is for top radio stations, and we are excited to have been invited to participate for the third year running. It is evident that we mean it when we say we are the fastest- growing radio station. It is reality when others in the region see it too.”

Connecting Africa is held yearly and is organised by Dube Trade Port, East Coast Radio, KZN Tourism Authority and South African Airways Express.

Over the weeks, Star FM has organised several outside broadcasts in and outside Harare, in line with its 2015 theme, “Taking Radio to the People”.
