OK so the penalty converted by Namibia in the Chan qualifier penalty shootout was illegal.

How does that help us? Zilch!
We should just accept that our performance that day was pathetic and Namibia was way better than us and deserved to go through.

What we should now be doing now is focusing on our next Africa Cup of Nations game in March next year. It appears to me we have gone back to our slumber, choosing to major on the minor.

We think March is still too far away and we can afford to sleep on the wheel a bit. Probably the people in the football association corridors are saying “we can sleep a bit until December.”

Tell you what when December comes they will be like “we still have another two months to prepare.” And when March finally arrives that is when we will hear that Zifa is running around looking for money for the Congo trip.

We will hear that Walter Magaya has chipped in last minute and offered his VIP lodge as well as some air tickets. The Warriors might even go to Congo without having played a serious international friendly if history is anything to take seriously.

But why are we always like this? How about preparing for our next AFCON match from now going forward? The foreign based players were in the country for their off season break but we never took advantage to have a weeklong camp.

The Under 17’s poor show at the Cosafa Cup points to serious lack of preparation. As long as we continue doing things the way we are doing ,we won’t go anywhere with our football. I believe that as much as the economy is not favourable we can still put proper structures in place. For a start I believe the time is ripe for Zifa to reintroduce the under 15, Under 17 and Under 19 provincial leagues.

They can divide the league into North and South Zones with the teams playing matches every two weeks until the end of the season.

The winners and runners up of each group in the zones will then meet in the semis and finals at one venue over two days. This approach alone will bring junior football back to life and give national team coaches a platform to select the best players.

I didn’t want to touch on the Caps United issue but some things have to be said lest one gets accused of bias. I have heard some fans and some so called experts blaming the team’s horrendous it on fatigue.

Really? May I ask how many games have Caps United played so far this season? They have played 13 league games and 10 Champions league matches.

If at 13 league games the players are already fatigued what happens with the remaining games? The problems at Caps United could be deeper than we imagine because the human resources are there.

Could it be psychological?

Could it be relationships?

Could it be anxiety?

Could it be money issues?

Could it be a genuine loss of form?

All I know is that it is not pleasant to see Makepekepe is such a mess.

Let me pen off by letting you know guys that I am over the moon that one of my boys Neymar has finally made the move to PSG.

I have my reasons but that is a story for another day.

Gazzaman exits the scene!
