‘So far so good at Caps Utd’

The Sunday Mail

Lloyd Chitembwe
THE victory against Dynamos is behind us and the most important game now is the one against Border Strikers.
We anticipate a very difficult game; they are going to make it very, very difficult for us, because they are a team searching for a first point.
Everybody has been talking about our run so far, some are saying it is impressive and remarkable but I would rather not talk about that at the moment.
Like I have said, the emphasis is always on the next game and (today) we play Border Strikers so I would rather we concentrate on that match.
Beating Dynamos was good, but it is water under the bridge now.
We have to continue working hard, the league is still in its infancy and we have a long way to go.
The players know this.
As professionals we have to make sure we live by our professional ethics, these are the cornerstones of any successful sportsperson.
We are being guided by the respect for one another, the respect for a fellow professional.
Punctuality at training sessions, strictly adhering to the demands of the club and putting a lot of hard work at every session are also very key. Everyone in the setup knows where we want take this club and I must say I am satisfied.
So far so far so good, the players have responded quiet well in that aspect.
After such a run, I am sure some will fear complacency will creep into my players but that will not happen in anyway.
At the end of the day, complacency only creeps in where there is no desire to succeed, that hunger to win, and in our group we all have the hunger to do well.
I do not think complacency will be a factor, yes, soccer is a high pressure game especially at a big club like Caps United but we are just taking it game by game.
We are relaxed and enjoying our game.
