SHARP SHOOTER: Embrace the warmth of the First Lady Sunday Mail

The Sunday Mail

There is a heatwave. The hot spell is sparing no one.

However, those of us using solar systems are more than delighted because we now have excess energy to supply our homes.
We are extremely grateful that this heat is providing us the providence that we need without having to rely on the water levels of Lake Kariba or the efforts of the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority to provide us with the elusive power for our households and salvation.
More than anything, we are thankful to our First Lady, Amai Grace Mugabe, for providing the warmest source of livelihood through her firebrand kind of leadership.
Like I said, there is a heatwave and the lucky ones like us embrace this hot spell because it gives us the energy we have been looking for.
We have searched for it for a very long time in the wrong places and now we have found it in the right place.
The very place we were supposed to have searched for it in the first place and that is from our mother, Dr Amai.
It is only your mother who can provide you with the dosage of warmth that you need.
She will not burn you. She will not scorch you or melt you.
We can be sure that she regulates the temperature so that you do not sweat ‘til you dehydrate and we certainly can be sure she will not char us with an overdose.
She will just give us the right amount of heat even though there is a heatwave that threatens to sap all our efforts of fulfilling our continued ambition to be a party that the people look up to for renewed focus on making this country the sunshine nation.
Sometime ago I recall that I applauded the sweet sound of her soft and wise undertones that resonated sought-after warmth in the chilly mid-winter weather.
They called me names because I openly devoted my love to this amazing woman; because I admired her; because I adored her and still do because she is the epitome of what a real mother and a real wife is and ought to be.
Her sweet melodies remain magnetic, spellbinding and keep many-a-man awe-stricken and mesmerised.
There was so much to learn about her and from her and those that doubted it now know what I am talking about.
Although I am not a hip-hop fan, I remember that famous and notorious Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace once sang; “If you don’t know, now you know.”
I am sure errant veterans of that 13 year-long second war of liberation now know that there is no sacred cow or golden calf in the Zimbabwe that we all envisaged because the povo has always also been the reason why we are an Independent nation today.
The povo provided shelter, food, information and moral support. Indeed without the support of the povo there would not be any war veterans to talk about today.
Dr Amai has, therefore, reaffirmed what we have all known all along — the Second Chimurenga was won by collective action and roles and it is important to treat the ordinary people, the povo, with respect and not denigrate them because even though you held a gun, the povo made sure you survived while you held that gun.
It is time to fight the war that lies ahead — to emancipate ourselves from economic slavery and manipulation.
Love her or hate her she spoke like a sharp shooter: “Some (war veterans) will say I went to war, so I have a right to do whatever I want. Are you the only one who went to war? There are others who fought in that liberation war who are still toeing the party line.”
Sniper precision!
Some, like Joice Mujuru, decided to bury their heads in the sand and continued to do whatever they wanted just because they thought because they were in the Second Chimurenga, they were untouchable.
Today Joice Mujuru and her Gamatox cabal is withering in this heatwave, outside the grace of the revolutionary party.
And then there was the dog’s breakfast of reading too much into VP Mphoko introducing the First Lady.
Surely when you read too much into a non-event, at least try and avoid writing too much about it as well.
Certainly, the First Lady has representation of the President because she has intelligence on what the President’s intentions are, be they social, political, economic or otherwise.
I am sure President Mugabe’s intents and purposes are well-known by the First Lady. So why not work with the President’s wife?
Dr Amai is the ammunition that all enemies of Zanu-PF and this great nation should be prepared to face. She brings sanity and reassurance during this heatwave of restlessness.
We are lucky she has the bravery that most well-to-do charlatans do not have.
Dubulaizitha!
