The embassy of Rwanda in Zimbabwe last week scooped a special award at the inaugural Public Relations and Communication Excellence Awards held in Harare.

The award is in recognition of the work done by the embassy since opening its offices in the country in February this year, as well as effectively sharing the Rwandan socio-economic transformation story with their Zimbabwean counterparts.

The award ceremony was hosted by the Institute of Public Relations and Communication Zimbabwe, a private institution of higher learning specialising in public relations training and media training.

Accepting the award Rwanda’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, James Musoni, said the recognition was a reflection of Rwanda’s good governance system which is being cascaded to Zimbabwe.

“This is a reflection of the whole system of governance in Rwanda,” he said

“Rwanda is proud to have a solid and sound leadership in President Paul Kagame whose good work is being cascaded here.”

Ambassador Musoni said the embassy had been involved in several community and national initiatives such as the national clean up exercise and is also active in engagements with captains of industry in Zimbabwe to link their products to markets in Rwanda. Rwanda is moving to strengthen bilateral and economic co-operation with Zimbabwe to boost trade and investment between the two countries.

Zimbabwe has since expressed it eagerness to replicate Rwanda’s successful socio-economic model.
