LOCAL publisher Gramsol Publishing Company last week launched four new books that focus on business enterprise skills.

Speaking at the launch in Harare, one of the authors, Chief Chikukwa, said the books offer practical and innovative skills for entrepreneurs.

“The business enterprise textbook series from 1 to 4 offers a transformational practical approach of learning, among other skills.

“The idea of value-addition skills is to adopt and utilise technology to produce goods and services, and the ability to appreciate and formulate enterprises from our rich cultural heritage.”

Many aspiring Zimbabweans, he said, can relate with the books, as illustrations in the books are from local experiences.

“As authors, we have no doubt that these business enterprise textbooks shall address the existing gap, the gap of yesteryear education and the new demands of this century. The examples in our enterprise textbooks are not imported, but our own Zimbabwean enterprises’ captains of industry offering mentorship and practical experience.”

Gramsol chief executive officer Mr Tafadzwa Sandura said their aim was to complement Government’s effort in education by providing educational materials across all sectors.

“Gramsol Publishing Company started operating in 2010 as a book selling company offering a wide variety of textbooks for primary, secondary and tertiary learning levels approved by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary education,” he said.

“After assessing the growing needs for educational material, the company decided to venture into publishing and has grown phenomenally to become a fully fletched publisher of original, well-researched, thoroughly edited and relevant educational content covering the entire education sector from primary to tertiary levels.

“In line with Government of Zimbabwe’s much-acclaimed National Development Strategy (NDS1), we passionately believe that education significantly contributes to human capital development and innovation.”
