Daughters of Virtue Ministries leader, Prophetess Memory Matimbire, last week celebrated her 43rd birthday by donating foodstuff, blankets and stationery to 200 Epworth families.

Speaking at the donation handover ceremony in Epworth on Tuesday, Prophetess Matimbire said helping those in need was service required of every Christian.

“Today is my birthday and marks the launch of the new arm of the ministry, and will be marked by this gesture of giving to different communities,” she said.

“I started giving to people I had no relationships with long back.

“I remember buying 20 pairs of tennis shoes and giving them to the elderly.

“It is not the first time we have donated to the underprivileged.

“Daughters of Virtue is a prayer movement, whose mandate is to raise an altar of prayer in every individual.

“We do not just believe in prayer but also in interacting with communities we operate in.”

She said her ministry has a long history of donating to the poor.

“As Daughters of Virtue, we have donated food items, school stationery, clothing and blankets to Maronda Mashanu School and the surrounding community in Chivhu,” she added.

“We also pay school fees for 100 pupils at that school.

“We have also donated various items to Chikurubi Female Prison in Harare, Mutemwa Leprosy Centre in Mutoko and the elderly in Glen Norah, Highfield, Chitungwiza and surrounding areas.

“These are some of the acts of charity we have conducted in the different communities we interact with.”
