A former Zimbabwe international striker and Premiership coach, Phiri died at his Glen Norah home after succumbing to liver cancer.
He was 60.
Phiri’s daughter, Debra, confirmed yesterday afternoon that the legendary winger will be buried this afternoon.
“It’s so painful that father is gone but that is God’s will and we have to accept it. He will be buried tomorrow (today) at Zororo,” said Debra.
Phiri, who was also known as “Breakdown”, was a robust forward who could use both his head and feet brilliantly at the peak of athletic powers.
