Pass the test

The Sunday Mail

Brian Ngosi

Life always requires you to be at your best.

By default, this is one test you have to pass.

The test is mandatory by birth.

As you took in your first breath, you passed first of life’s tests and there is no going back.

The assessment is continuous; you cannot be excused or exempted.

You take a break at your own risk. It is always up to you to make progress or not, the latter of which has dire consequences.

Every day you live you should be a victor.

To become a better person, you need to define yourself with high standards.

In the test of life, you are an active participant and you are your own evaluator.

But remember, society is also there to assess you, to judge you and to give you a score.

Your circumstances and environment are an aid.

Ultimately, you must be responsible and accountable.

No excuse is enough.

You are liable to yourself and society at large for how well you perform.

People may assist you, but your life is based on your personal drive.

On the other hand, people may pull you back, but in the end you are responsible for your life.

If you decide to lower the bar for yourself, the world will remember that.

Success has known parameters, and so has failure.

Everyone should have a success story.

Everyone can make it to the top; life’s test is set on an individual basis.

Everyone faces different challenges.

The pace is really up to you.

Age and responsibilities have a tendency of putting pressure on how you approach life.

There is no wisdom in competing where more value can be derived from complementing each other.

Nothing is lost from supporting each other.

If you are mean, you may end up a lone ranger in a crowded world.

Your attitude is a key attribute to passing your test.

Life is an accumulation of many steps, whether they are taken in the right or wrong direction.

Small cracks from bad decisions today may explain the bigger mess tomorrow.

Lessons from either winning or losing can be used to improve tomorrow’s decision-making.

Never allow yesterday’s difficulties to affect how you take the test tomorrow.

Use the difficult times as a learning curve.

Most of life’s tests are public, everyone will know your results.

You may pretend to be doing on the test, but eventually the true results will be in plain sight.

Life is one test that you cannot cheat.

Be honest with yourself and others.

Whether to enjoy or endure the test, is a personal choice.

Should you start off poorly, avoid confusing yourself further.

Take slow and measured steps.

Be serious when taking the test.

The test has a way of honouring those who respect it.

You have control, bring your best to the test of life.
