TODAY, the fired-up combination of Suluman Chimbetu and Peter Moyo is at Pamuzinda Ice and Fire in Harare.

PETER AND SULU

PETER AND SULU

The joint had somewhat sunk into oblivion but new proprietor Josh Hozheri aka Big Josh appears to have brought back its glory days.

Remember the yesteryear days of Power FM duo Bridget Gavanga and Dr Zobha? Pamuzinda was the place to find them. And now it shall be reverberating to the sounds of local music giants again.

Pamuzinda has regained its lost pride and is fast taking over as a venue of choice for family outings. Sulu and Peter’s show comes hot on the heels of Jah Prayzah’s recent sold-out gig at the same venue.

And it appears Sulu and the Young Igwe are on course to match the numbers. The new alliance of Sulu and Peter is proving hard to resist for music enthusiasts.

Most of their shows have been held out of town but today Hararians get a chance to date the duo at the re-branded highway venue. Big Josh says there will be plenty of bonfires and braziers, so don’t worry about the winter chill!.

Longcheng Plaza

While Pamuzinda provides revellers with an assortment of entertainment, the allure of Longcheng Restaurant’s cuisine cannot be ignored. Those that love Chinese dishes can make a stopover en route to the family gig at Pamuzinda. (Both venues are along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway.)

The Chinese are popular the world over for their cuisine, hence no surprise why their restaurants are rated among the best here and everywhere else.

Longcheng Restaurant offers a variety of dishes, with popular ones including steamed dumplings with beef, chicken noodles, sizzling steak and spicy crispy chicken wings, among many other things.

From the warm reception which makes you feel at ease, to the exquisite Chinese decor, the ambience is worth the stopover. Serving their own signature Chinese cuisine different from other restaurants in Harare, their authenticity is reinforced by the Chinaware and art.

The restaurant also boasts a wide variety of beverages from all over the world. South African wines, Scotch whiskeys, Russian vodkas and traditional Chinese spirits are all on offer.

Furthermore, kids are also catered for at Longcheng Plaza. The amusement park has been doing wonders and kids have fallen in love with the place.

And to make sure that it keeps abreast with global trends, management has announced that the park will get a facelift and four new state-of-the-art rides suitable for young and old alike have been acquired.

The new leisure units include a Tagada Disco, Space Shuttle, Pirate Ship and Bumper Cars.

Longcheng Amusement Park manager Mervyn Zhang says new measures mean parents can leave children in the care of staff until the venue closes for the day.
