ZPC KARIBA coach Sunday Chidzambwa has ruled out a move that can see Wisdom Mutasa joining his father at Dynamos during the current mid-season window. Mutasa has heavily been linked with the move to DeMbare and yesterday, he had a subdued game as ZPC Kariba failed to close the gap on log leaders Highlanders after they were held to a goalless draw by Chapungu at Nyamhunga.

ZPC Kariba are now on 22 points, five adrift of Bosso who play Chicken Inn at BF this afternoon. Chidzambwa, who has transformed ZPC Kariba into a competitive outfit this term, was disappointed with the result and was quick to dismiss Mutasa’s links with Dynamos.

“Wisdom signed a one year loan deal with us from Aces Academy so there is no way he can leave us now,” said Chidzambwa. “Perhaps he knows better the kind of interest Dynamos has in him but I am not aware of that.”

Yesterday’s result means ZPC Kariba have failed to beat Chapungu at Nyamhunga in two consecutive seasons. Last season, the two teams played out a 1-1 draw and Chidzambwa was a bit disturbed with the result given that ZPC Kariba were coming from a 0-1 loss to Highlanders.

“Our performance was not good enough, a draw was not good enough but that is the nature of the game. We will have to react positively from this,” he said. Chidzambwa has made a number of positional changes to his side with former bustling striker Tawanda Nyamandwe now playing at centre back.

Tawanda “Rambo” Munyanduri who usually plays defensive link played at right back while the rejuvenated Lincoln “Bhadra” Zvasiya was the shield of the back four.

“We have been trying to come up with a solid team hence the changes, Nyamandwe is actually good at centre back, we have conceded only two goals since he started playing in that position some weeks ago.

“As for Zvasiya, he is back to normal, he is doing well. He is a very useful player who is comfortable at both centre back and defensive linkman,” he said. Chapungu came out a determined side and could have grabbed a win had their strike force, especially Xolani Ncube, not been wasteful.

Former Dynamos striker Allan Tavarwisa was a thorn in the flesh each time he had possession while Waru Waru’s defence did well to completely shut out ZPC Kariba danger man Talent Chawapiwa. Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino was happy with the draw against a team he has begun to respect.

“ZPC Kariba are doing good under Mhofu, looking at their position on the log and recent results, I think a draw was good for us, though we should have scored one or two. “Chidzambwa has done a lot for this side, he is like a godfather of coaching,” said Nyikadzino.
