DYNAMOS team manager Richard “Nyoka” Chihoro has scoffed at claims that he is the champions’ juju man as “nonsense peddled by losers who are struggling to find a formula to beat my team.”

Chihoro was almost assaulted by suspected Highlanders supporters last weekend when his team arrived at the National Sports Stadium for the TM Pick n Pay Challenge match and had to thank the swift intervention of Dynamos chief of security Cephas Maseva. The four men, who were clad in Highlanders regalia, accused Chihoro of “always circling our (Highlanders) team bus with your juju” and wanted to stop him from his supposed ritual. Some sections allege that Chihoro blows some unknown stuff, thought to be snuff, onto the pitch when the going gets tough for his team.

It’s an allegation which left the affable manager, who served as David Mandigora’s assistant, in bouts of laughter at the team’s training session last Thursday.

“I was almost assaulted by four men wearing Highlanders regalia before the challenge match. They were accusing me of always circling their team bus thereby crippling their team’s chances of winning against us. Luckily for me, Cephas reacted quickly and shoved them away. But obviously, it’s all nonsense peddled by losers who are struggling to find a formula to beat us.

“Instead of them concentrating on training their teams, they spend time on useless things that have nothing to do with football. I don’t have any juju and Dynamos’ success boils down to the coach’s good training methods and the players’ commitment.

“But I hope they (Dynamos opponents) continue focusing on that garbage at the expense of preparing their teams so that we can continue winning,” said the man fondly referred to as Nyoka by the DeMbare faithful.
