TALENTED Zimdancehall chanter and man of the moment Nutty O (pictured right) is oiling up his machinery ahead of American rapper Rick Ross’ concert, which is scheduled for November 18 at the Harare International Conference Centre.

Nutty O, born Carrington Simbarashe Chiwadzwa, and hip-hop artiste Holy Ten were selected to warm up the stage for Rick Ross.

South African rapper Nasty C will also perform at the much-awaited show.

The selection of Nutty O and Holy Ten as the curtain raisers for the Rick Ross show ahead of established artistes such as Jah Prayzah and Winky D has sparked debate on social media.

Nutty O is currently working on perfecting his stage act.

“For the past month, I have been working very hard, doing some rehearsals. This is a very big show and I must not disappoint,” the Mbare-born musician said.

A former member of Jah Prayzah’s Military Touch Movement, Nutty O has turned to social media platforms for tips on how to perform on the grand stage.

“I’m always on YouTube, watching some tutorials on how an artiste can perform at bigger events.

“Of late, I have been watching Burna Boy and Wizkid performances and I learnt a lot,” said Nutty O.

Nutty O wants to use the concert as a launch pad for bigger and better things.

“Remember, this concert will be watched by possibly millions of people from all corners of the globe.

“For me, this is a golden opportunity to market myself and my brand,” said Nutty O, who recently performed in South Africa, Poland and Germany.

The “Handipere Power” hitmaker is also angling for a collaboration with Rick Ross.

Born William Leonard Roberts II, Rick Ross, is a multi-Grammy award winning rapper and record executive.

The November 18 event will be the “Hustlin” hitmaker’s first show in Zimbabwe.
