ZANU-PF has lifted suspensions on former Tourism Minister Francis Nhema and ex-Minister of State in the President’s Office Flora Buka. The duo was suspended for associating with former Vice-President Joice Mujuru’s plot to oust President Mugabe from the party and State leadership. In an interview after a Zanu PF Midlands Provincial Co-ordinating Committee meeting yesterday, Zanu-PF Midlands Provincial interim chair Cde Joram Gumbo said the Politburo had cleared the two.

“What I was advising party members is that Cde Buka and Cde Tsitsi Zhou are non-constituency Members of Parliament and there has been a tendency of leaving them out because they are not elected MPs,” he said. “(But) these (members) should attend all important meetings for the party.

“Another issue concerns Cdes Buka and Nhema, they were on suspension but people misinterpreted as if they were expelled from the party. They remained members of the party.

“Moreover, in our situation Cdes Buka and Nhema have already been forgiven and we are waiting for the announcement by the Politburo because their issue was not on agenda on the previous meeting. Their issue is done; the two have been cleared, but we are now waiting for the formal communication,” he said.

Addressing yesterday’s meeting, Cde Gumbo said Cdes Nhema, Buka, Chiratidzo Mabuwa, Fred Moyo and Tafanana Zhou should be reintegrated into the party’s activities.

“I want to advise you that you cannot erase the contribution of Cdes Nhema, Buka, Mabuwa, Fred Moyo and Tafanana Zhou. . .Let us not let our personal differences affect the party and soil others and peddle falsehoods against them.”

The Politburo recently cleared Cdes Mabuwa and Moyo of any wrong doing.
