CHIBONG Visuals, a film and music studio owned by Zimbabweans based in Botswana, recently released a short film titled “Michael.”

Written by Miranda Tembo, the film focuses on life experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic.

It premiered on YouTube on November 10 and has so far attracted more than 10 000 views.

Speaking from his base in Botswana, Tembo said the script was inspired by his personal experiences.

“A lot of positives were drawn out of the coronavirus-induced lockdowns. For instance, some people were forced to start their own businesses that are thriving right now,” he said.

In the film, Michael, a poor man who is forced to start his business during the Covid-19 pandemic, is the main actor.

Michael’s business flourishes and he becomes a rich man.

Film director, Clarah Dube, said the film seeks to inspire communities to be innovative and seek opportunities.

“Where there are problems, there are also solutions. Through the film, we seek to inspire people to find solutions to problems and at the same time benefit from finding the solutions,” Dube said.
