THE Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) has entered into partnership with Singaporean company AF Power and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) to develop a virtual platform aimed at sharing Singapore’s experience in investment promotion.
In a joint press statement, ZIDA CEO Mr Douglas Munatsi and AF Power Zimbabwe head Mr Jonathan Chalk said the virtual platform will include holding a number of virtual workshops to capacitate ZIDA officials with latest expertise on investment promotion.
The workshops will share how Singapore’s investment promotion, economic zone development and management experience has evolved over the years in response to internal and external opportunities and challenges.
“The Republic of Zimbabwe has continued to be a paragon of reliability, trustworthiness, honouring at all times the sanctity of contracts,” reads the statement.
“AFP believes that this initiative will further help to re-establish and develop partnerships between the Governments of the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Republic of Singapore.”
Also, AF Power, an independent power producer based in Singapore, is working on putting up a 200MW solar power plant in the country.
The first phase of the project will see AF Power invest in a 50MW plant in Umguza Bulawayo by 2022.
