AMBITIOUS Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) side Simba Bhora are reportedly tracking veteran centre-back Dennis Dauda, who was fired at CAPS United for allegedly fronting an industrial action that nearly saw Makepekepe fail to fulfil Sunday’s league match against Cranborne Bullets.

Dauda was sacked alongside five other senior players – Devon Chafa, Rodwell Chinyengetere, Simba Chinani, Clive Augusto and Ronald Chitiyo – whore were accused of being ringleaders of the internal revolt against non-payment of winning bonuses.

Chafa, Chinyengetere and Chitiyo have since been forgiven by the club.

The Sunday Mail Online understands that Simba Bhora, who are home to a number of veteran players including 2016 Soccer Star of the Year Hardlife Zvirekwi, are following developments at CAPS United with keen interest.

The club had reportedly opened talks with Chitiyo and Augusto before the former was retained at Makepekepe.

Augusto is now linked with a move to either Dynamos or his former side Chicken Inn.

Resultantly, Simba Bhora have now turned their focus on the 2014 Soccer Star of the Year, Dauda, who turned 34 in April.

A source close to the club confirmed the developments.

“They (Simba Bhora) initially wanted to swoop on Rooney (Chitiyo), but that move is now doubtful. Augusto was also spoken to but the boy seems to be interested in playing top-flight football.

“Dennis Dauda is now the target,” said the source.

Simba Bhora top the NRSL log standings and are firm favourites to clinch the ticket to the Premier Soccer League.

Club president Simba “Buju” Ndoro, however, denied his club had any links with Dauda.
