SEVEN suspected armed robbers last week pounced on a Zvishavane businessman’s homestead and made off with US$8 500 cash, a pistol and various valuables that include mobile phones and watches.
In a statement on Monday, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the incident occurred in the Izayi Park area.
“Police in Zvishavane are investigating a robbery case which occurred on November 5, 2021 at Izayi Park, Zvishavane,” reads the statement.
“Seven unidentified suspects pounced at the complainant’s homestead where they attacked a local businessman and his first wife before stealing US$6 000, ZAR2 000, a cellphone, torch as well as a Norinco pistol with a charged magazine of seven rounds.”
Police said the suspects also stole two cellphones, a satchel with uniforms, a wristwatch, two tablets and US$2500 from the complainant’s maid, son and second wife.
