Zimbabwe Chevrons all-rounder, Sikandar Raza has been short-listed for the International Cricket Council (ICC) 2022 One Day International (ODI) Cricketer of the year award.

Raza, who has been influential for the Chevrons’ resurgence on the international stage, has been shortlisted for the best ODI cricketer of the year gong, alongside Australia’s Adam Zampa, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and West Indies’ Shai Hope.

Having scored 645 runs and taken eight wickets in 15 matches for the Chevrons, Raza has been one of Zimbabwe’s most consistent players with both bat and ball.

He aggregated 645 runs at an average of 49.61, and with a strike rate of 87.16, making two fifties to complement his three centuries.

All of his runs came against top sides that have been brilliant in the white-ball game in 2022.

The 36-year-old scored three centuries, all of which came while chasing, with two resulting in victories and another almost taking Zimbabwe across the line against India.

Raza was instrumental in claiming the ODI series victory for Zimbabwe against Bangladesh with scores of 135 and 117, which came during two superb run-chases.

He followed the two centuries with a fine 115-run score against India in the final ODI in Harare.
