POLICE are looking for 10 suspects involved in the murder of a 31-year-old man near the National Sports Stadium four months ago following a road-rage incident.
In a statement on Wednesday, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said a scuffle ensued after one of the suspects threw a packet of “Maputi” into the victim Simeon Norman’s vehicle.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of ten (10) suspects involved in a murder case which occurred on March 9, 2022 near the National Sports Stadium, along Harare-Bulawayo Road,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.
Police said on the fateful day, at around 7pm, the victim, Simeon Norman (31), was driving a Mercedes-Benz E320 vehicle with three passengers on board along Harare-Bulawayo Road from Harare City Centre to Kuwadzana.
Along the way, the victim got caught up in a dispute with the suspects, who were passengers in a truck that was proceeding in the same direction.
“One of the suspects threw some Maputi in the victim’s vehicle,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.
“The 10 suspects then disembarked from the truck and attacked the victim before fleeing from the scene. The victim died on his way to hospital.”
