NEW: Police bosses reassigned

The Commissioner-General of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Godwin Matanga has re-assigned four deputy Commissioner Generals to new portfolios in line with ZRP’s human resource policy of enhancing performance in the organisation.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said the rotation is necessary to meet new policing demands as the country gears for Vision 2030.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police advises the public that the Commissioner-General of Police, Tandabantu Godwin Matanga has re-assigned deputy Commissioner Generals in the Police to new portfolios,” he said.

“The re-assignment is part of the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Human Resource Policy of enhancing performance in the organisation, ensuring versatility among the senior officers, tapping into the senior officers’ experience as well as expertise, job rotation and the need to meet new policing demands as the country gears for Vision 2030.”

The latest reassignments will see deputy Commissioner General Stephen Mutamba move from operations to administration.

Deputy Commissioner-General Mind Elliot Ngirandi will move from crime to human resources, while deputy Commissioner-General Learn Ncube moves from administration to operations.

Deputy Commissioner-General Lorraine Chipato moves from human resources to crime.
