PALESTINE has condemned Israeli settlers and forces for recently killing six people and injuring 26 others in the West Bank city of Jenin.
In a statement on Wednesday, Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Tamer Almassri said, in addition to targeting homes and destroying property, Israeli forces had now killed over 70 people since the beginning of the year.
“The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Harare condemns in the strongest terms the increased aggression and acts of violence by the Israeli forces and Israeli settlers in the West Bank city of Jenin, which resulted in the assassination of six Palestinians while injuring 26 with live bullets.
“The number of Palestinians victims killed has reached 73 since the beginning of 2023,” he said.
Ambassador Almassri added that the attacks were derailing prospects of peace in the region.
“Apartheid Israel is choosing the path of escalation and it should take the responsibility for the consequences of its choices and repercussions of this conflict.”
