DOTITO in Mount Darwin, Mashonaland Central, will host the eagerly-awaited anti-sanctions gala on October 25.

Among the high-profile artistes that are going to perform at the gala are, Sulumani Chimbetu, Mark Ngwazi, Romeo Gasa and Andy Muridzo.

Dorcas Moyo, Chief Hwenje, Simon Mutambi and Jah Master are also going to take to the stage and remind the world about the illegal sanctions that were imposed on Zimbabwe.

Dubbed the “Anti-Sanctions Gala,” some of the musicians that will perform spoke to The Sunday Mail Online about its importance.

Chief Hwenje said the sanctions are stalling economic development.

“These illegal sanctions have brought untold suffering on our people.

“As artists, our performances will help send the message to the Western powers,” Chief Hwenje said.

Mark Ngwazi, who fronts the Njanja Express band, weighed in and called for the immediate removal of the sanctions.

“As a country, we cannot wait any longer for the removal of the cruel sanctions.

“My performance at the show serves to remind those that imposed the sanctions that it is high time the sanctions are removed,” Ngwazi said.

Dendera musician, Sulumani Chimbetu, said the illegal sanctions are detrimental to the Government’s efforts to transform the country into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.

“Enough is enough. The sanctions must go. This country is destined to become an upper-middle-income economy,” Chimbetu said.
