Negligent driving on Harare’s roads has become rampant.
Screaming and shouting is increasingly becoming the norm, but one Harare man took it a step further when he pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot a fellow motorist who had blocked his way.
Police are now looking for the Mufakose man only identified as Mapondera.
In a statement on Monday evening, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) warned the public that those who use firearms to settle scores or threaten others during disputes will be prosecuted.
“The public is warned against abuse of firearms to settle scores or threaten others during disputes,” said police.
“On November 27, 2022, police in Harare received a report of pointing a firearm in which a motorist only identified as Mapondera pointed an unidentified pistol at the victim before threatening to shoot him.
“The victim had stopped the vehicle he was driving in the middle of the road to greet a friend along Mutondo Road, Mufakose.”
