An 83-year-old man from Chiredzi died on Tuesday after being attacked with catapults and wooden sticks by two suspects who accused him of witchcraft.
The victim, Benson Chikati, died before he was taken to hospital.
In a statement on Wednesday, police confirmed the arrest of one of the suspects.

“On October 11, 2022, ZRP Chiredzi arrested Serudzai Magadzire (45) in connection with a case of murder which occurred on October 10, 2022 at Village 3, Wasara Range, Chiredzi,” read the statement.
“The suspect and his accomplice, Kenias Magadzire (21), who is still at large, accused the victim, Benson Chikati (83), of witchcraft before attacking him with catapults and wooden sticks.”
