Zimbabwe’s first-class cricket competition, the Logan Cup, returns on Thursday with two matches on the cards.

The two four-day opening matches of the 2022-2023 Logan Cup season are pencilled in for Old Hararians Sports Club and Harare Sports Club, where Eagles host Rocks and Mountaineers take on Rhinos, respectively.

Defending champions Tuskers will have to wait a bit longer before starting off their title defence, as they are set to only join in proceedings during the second round of fixtures that are scheduled between November 29 and December 2.

Tuskers will face Rocks in their season opener at Old Hararians Sports Club, while Rhinos host Eagles at Kwekwe Sports Club.

Bulawayo and Mutare will get their turn to host Logan Cup matches when Tuskers host Rhinos at Queens Sports Club, while Mountaineers take on Eagles at Mutare Sports Club from December 8 to December 11.

The last round of fixtures before the holidays are slated for December 15 to 18, which will see Rocks at home against Mountaineers at Masvingo Sports Club, while Eagles are away to Tuskers at Bulawayo Athletic Club.

The competition will then break for the festive season, with action expected to resume soon after the New Year holidays.

The final rounds of fixtures are scheduled for February 15 to 18, 2023.

Following the conclusion of the first-class season in February, the Southerns and Northerns will clash in three four-day matches.
