ONE of Zimbabwe’s youngest published authors, Junior Mwase, has launched an animation website called Lobaanimations, which is aimed at highlighting child marriages and child abuse.

Following the death of 14-year-old Anna Machaya during birth at a Johanne Marange shrine on July 15, Mwase decided to establish an animation website so that children can better understand issues around child abuse.

He told The Sunday Mail Online he believes this will help children to understand these issues better.

“This issue of child marriage and child abuse is taking place all over the country and I believe that when my fellow age mates get this information from someone like me who is of the same age with them, it will help them understand.

“The fact that animations are entertaining, easier to follow and not boring to watch as compared to reading or listening to issues concerning child abuse, this will help children acknowledge the importance of this matter in their lives,” he said.

“My intended audience are children from as early as three years. This will help them to grow aware of these issues and they will be able to protect themselves in case it happens in their lives.”

The 15-year-old Junior Mwase once wrote a story book called ‘The Book of Life’ in 2014 when he was only nine.
