GOVERNMENT has completed translating the Highway Code into ChiShona and IsiNdebele in a development expected to promote inclusion.

Addressing Tuesday’s post-Cabinet briefing, ICT, Postal and Courier Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere, who was standing in for Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa,  said: “The nation is informed that in an effort to promote inclusivity and in line with His Excellency, the President’s mantra of not leaving anyone and any place behind, the Government has translated and printed the Highway Code into Shona and Ndebele.

“No one will, henceforth, be hindered from studying the Highway Code, and subsequently acquiring a driver’s licence due to language barrier.”

He said electronic learner’s licence tests will also soon be available in vernacular.
