Great Zimbabwe University has postponed its end of semester examinations, which had been scheduled to start on August 30.

The postponement comes in the wake of an extension of the current level four lockdown by an additional two weeks, which was announced yesterday.

In a statement on Wednesday, the institution’s registrar Snikiwe Gwatidzo said the reopening will be premised on the Government’s position on academic activity.

“Please be advised that the examinations will commence on the Monday which follows the lifting of the lockdown,” the statement read.

The university has urged its students to get vaccinated, as they prepare for the examinations.

Academic activity has been affected by the pandemic and attendant lockdown conditions.

Institutions have been urging their students to enlist for vaccinations so as to enhance chances of returning to normalcy.
