A four-day-old infant, a 19-year-old girl and their father sustained burns in Glen Norah A, after a gas stove exploded.
The explosion is believed to have been caused by an insect killer that was sprayed before a gas stove was switched on.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“The ZRP is investigating a gas explosion incident which occurred on June 6 2023 at a certain house in Glen Norah A, Harare where a gas stove exploded resulting in the dining room’s roof being blown off,” he said.
“As a result, the informant, his son (four days) and daughter (19) who were in the room sustained burns, and a four-plate stove as well as a refrigerator were burnt beyond recognition.
“The informant had sprayed an insect killer in the room before he lit the gas stove.”
