THE country’s average dam level has decreased to 82,7 percent due to the dry spell being experienced, the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa) has said.
In a statement, Zinwa said all dams had decreased significantly over the past two months.
“As at March 6, 2024 dams are on a sharp downward trend with virtually every dam recording a decrease.
“National dam level average now 82,7 percent. Same time last year it was 93, 5 percent,” said Zinwa.
According to the latest statistics, Chivero is 99 percent full, Mzingwane (4 percent), Upper Ncema (17 percent), Inyakuni (24 percent) and Insiza (57 percent).
Tugwi Mukosi is currently at 84 percent, Lake Mutirikwi (96 percent) and Manyame (94 percent).
