The High Court is expected to deliver judgement in the murder case involving Emelda Marizanhi – a Chivhu woman who allegedly murdered her four children in cold blood in 2020 – on Friday.

Marizanhi is being charged with four counts of murder after she slit the throats of her four children in a gruesome incident that left the nation in shell-shocked.

The court heard that she committed the offence following a marital dispute with her husband, Lameck Bande.

After the bizarre act, she went on to set their house on fire, burning two of the four children beyond recognition.

Marizanhi then attempted to commit suicide by swallowing a poisonous substance before she was rushed to hospital.
