LOCALLY, Blessing Itayi Sithole might live up to his trash-talking and ‘gold collector’ moniker but the 31-year-old bodybuilder is expected to face his toughest test yet when he comes up against some of the world’s best at this weekend’s Arnold Classic in South Africa.

Fresh off yet another title at Ironman Festival, where he won gold in the Men’s Physique category, CC Banks, as he is known within the body-building community, was bubbling with confidence just before departure for the event slated for June 3 to June 5.

“The Ironman Festival turned out to be quite a big and well-organised event. However, as far as the win is concerned, it might have been a big moment for the other athletes on stage with me, but it was just May 28 for me,” said CC Banks on his Ironman Festival win.

This seems to be the mentality Sithole is carrying to South Africa, where he is expected to take part in three competitions in the space of 11 days.

He is registered to take part in the Arnold Classic on June 3, after which he will also participate at the Pretoria Grand Prix and the Summer Super Bodies in Johannesburg slated for June 4 and 11, respectively.

“I will be in South Africa for something like two weeks, during which I will participate in three competitions,” he said.

“My schedule starts off with the Arnolds, after which I will take part in the Pretoria Grand Prix and the Summer Super Bodies in Johannesburg.

“For me, these are just June 3, 4 and 11 dates.”
