BLACK RHINOS coach Herbert Maruwa wants to turn Vhengere Stadium into a fortress.

After two games at the new home, his Black Rhinos outfit are unbeaten, and this has Maruwa dreaming of even competing for the 2021-2022 league title.

The Black Rhinos gaffer believes the support that they have received from fans since relocating to Rusape at the start of the second half of the season will push his charges towards a successful season.

“We are having a good run, and the support that we have received from the fans is wonderful. This is going to be a motivating factor for us as a team to do well, as the people of Rusape have accepted us and we now need to repay their faith with good results,” said Maruwa.

“I am confident that this is what we are doing as we seek to turn Vhengere Stadium into a Black Rhinos fortress.”

Black Rhinos have so far managed to bag four points out of a possible six at the same venue.

Following their latest stalemate against Yadah FC, the army side sit fifth on the log table and 13 points behind log leaders FC Platinum.

Maruwa, however, believes his charges can still spring a surprise and bounce back into the title matrix.

“If the top teams continue to drop points, like they are doing, then we still have a chance to fight for the championship.”
