WATER levels in the country’s major dams continue to rise due to rainfall activity experienced in various parts of the country.
In an update on Friday, the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa)’s head of corporate communications and marketing Mrs Marjorie Manyonga said: “The national average dam level is now 82,4 percent, with the country’s 10 largest dams recording positive inflows. The rains have also led to the filling up and spilling of more dams, including Antelope, Valley, Mbembeswane (in Matabeleland South), Shurugwi (Midlands) and Arcadia in Mashonaland Central.”
Zinwa, however, implored consumers to use water efficiently and sparingly.
Those users drawing water from the authority have also been urged to make sure that their water use is in terms of a water abstraction agreement, as required by the law.
