TALENTED Zimbabwean hip-hop artiste Tafadzwa “Asaph” Tarukwana has dropped a new single featuring fellow South African hip-hop singer Ndlelenhle “Loki” Nyuswa.

The song is titled “Thebelele” and was sung mostly in Zulu.

The Bulawayo born and bred singer said it was not a challenge for him since Ndebele and Zulu have some similar words.

Speaking in an interview with The Sunday Mail Online, Asaph said this was the beginning of even greater things to come.

“This collaboration with Loki is my breakthrough in the music industry. It is a sign that I am moving in the right direction and will make it on to the global charts,” he reckons.

“Thebelele” translates to ‘a good life’.

“I am a hardworking man who admires a good living, and that is how I was inspired to compose this track.”

The artiste is hoping the song will be well-received.

Asaph was recently signed by Def Jam Recordings, a leading American multinational record label owned by the Universal Music Group, which has a heavy presence in South Africa.

“I am very excited to see my music flourishing on the global market. I recently penned a deal with the Def Jam Studios in South Africa, which shows that our music is doing very well in foreign lands,” he said.

“I envy what Sha Sha is doing and hope I will be able to match the standards someday.”

Asaph has seven awards under his belt, six of them being local, while the other one he received from MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) in South Africa.
