SONGBIRDS Anita Jaxson and Kikky Badass are mesmerising music lovers with their cover version of Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up”.
The song is currently trending on YouTube, and is the lead single from the soundtrack album of the 2022 superhero film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
Fans have been showering the duo with praises on various social media platforms.
“I was not expecting this, but this project touched me on a whole level,” wrote Mr Altfin.
“We need more of our female artists doing collaborations like you all do, I love it! Proud of you ZimQueens,” another user, Mazviitavee, added.
“They nailed it,” commented ruru1charmy on the song.
Jaxson also impressed fans at the premiere of the movie “Black Panther 2”, as she made an appearance dressed in similar outfit as a Black Panther at Sam Levy’s Ster-Kinekor Cinema in Harare.
The “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” film promotes women empowerment, as seen through the roles played by women such as the Dora Milaje warriors, which was headed by Okoye (real name ‘Danai Gurira’, a Zimbabwe-born American-based actress).
“I am so proud of her (Gurira), and would like to let her know that we are watching her, and the movies she is making keep us inspired,” said Jaxson.
