Never lose hope

“NOW, a man was there, who had been disabled for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and when he realised that the man had been disabled a long time already, he said to him, ‘Do you want to become well?’

“The sick man answered him, ‘Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up. While I am trying to get into the water, someone else goes down there before me.’

“Jesus said to him, ‘Stand up! Pick up your mat and walk.’ Immediately the man was healed, and he picked up his mat and started walking.” — John 5:5-9

Thirty-eight years lying helplessly is no joke.

This is a long time.

Men were passing by ignoring his situation; no one dared to assist him one day. That brings me to David’s confession in Psalm 121:2: “My help comes from the Lord; the maker of the heavens and the earth.”

What impressed me is that it did not take someone to tell Jesus that this man had been there for 38 years. No! The Bible says Jesus realised the man had been there for a long time.

Ours is an all-knowing God. He realises situations.

May God realise yours and assist you. Receive divine assistance.

Get ready to be met at the point of your need; Christ is whispering to your situation as He said to the crippled man: “Stand up! Pick up your mat and walk.”

When the crippled man was looking to a fellow man for assistance, the maker of man arrived to do it, instead.

Jesus Christ is on His way. Believe it and partake of it.
