CHILDHOOD is both an exciting and stressful stage in life.
The adolescence stage experiences determine the person you will become in adulthood.
A lot of changes happen physically and emotionally within the body of youths as they grow.
The period of transition between childhood and adulthood often creates mood-swings among youths due to hormonal changes.
Many pressures mount on youngsters during this stage, thus it is imperative that parents take up their role seriously. They should religiously monitor their kids and walk them through these ‘alien’ stages of transforming into an adult.
Parents need to talk more with their kids and educate them on changes they experience when going into puberty.
Timely education is crucial for this group, as failure to do so may have disastrous outcomes.
If a child does not get sound advice in time and instead gets to embrace wrong aspects of life, it is often difficult to rectify later.
In fact, an attempt to correct them will create animosity between the child and parents.
Forewarned is forearmed!
A child that is well educated or equipped with knowledge has better chances of dealing with undesirable circumstances as they arise. It is important to train our youth first and foremost on the basics of life.
They have to know that too much of everything is not good.
Also, they need to understand their anatomy, be able to control their emotions, feelings and behaviour.
We should join hands and make our children know that in life, what matters most are the choices they make on a daily basis. They need to be taught that life is determined by their actions and decisions.
Youth is the springboard of success or failure in life therefore it has to be an esteemed phase of parenthood.
Our youth are our tomorrow, let us lead them on the way to prosperity by providing proper guidance as adults, guardians and parents!
