AS our secondary school journey is coming to an end, it is important to answer the call of duty.

The first term of 2023 has finally started.

My career prospects are mainly in the engineering field, as I am studying Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at A-Level.

As I was growing up, I always wanted to be a doctor because I had the zeal to help people. However, I later realised that all the equipment used at medical facilities, including CT scanners and machines for cancer treatment, are made by engineers.

As such, I became passionate about being the brains behind those machines that help people on a daily basis.

I am in my final year of high school, and I hope to excel at the end of the year. This means I have to work extra hard. I know there is no gain without pain, and I am ready to sweat it out.

I have a study plan that will enable me to cover most of our syllabuses and ensure I am exposed to a lot of question papers before I sit the final examinations.

It is going to be a tough year but with God’s grace, I know I will emerge victorious.

To my colleagues, I say exams are not a joke.

I urge you to avoid procrastinating; start preparing and working hard now.

Set targets for yourselves and ensure you achieve them on time.

Avoid friends who will limit your capabilities, and hang around with focused learners.

Finally, put the Almighty first in everything you do. He will guide your steps until you reach the top of the mountain.

Fear not, and enjoy this challenge, which will be a memorable one.
