Maybe Mukuruva, Mtizwa or Muzondiwa

WHEN you attend the next Caps United match and don’t see a big, energetic woman rocking to the song “Kepekepe Bhora”, know that Monica “Sele” Kwarire is no longer with us. She died and was buried in Harare last week. The late Caps United fan loved her team and its players. She was once married to David Kutyauripo and was said to be Jorum Muchambo’s flame at the time of her untimely death.

Harare City skipper Kutyauripo proved to be a top guy, attending the funeral wake as well as the burial of his ex-wife.
It was also good to see Dynamos fans at the funeral, some things bring us together.
May Monica’s soul rest in peace. Now to the business of the day.

On days I am not feeling very spiritual I listen to Zimdancehall; your Freemans, Killer Ts, Soul Jah Loves and Bounty Lisas to mention a few.
The Chairman has a song that leaves no one in doubt about what he thinks about people who speak ill of him.I don’t eat at your house, don’t have anything to do with you and don’t care about what you think of me, sings the chanter from Mbare.

You see, the past few weeks have seen some sort of pressure being mounted on VaShagare: Xolisani Gwesela , Farai Jere and others have all voiced concern about Yours Truly.

Sadly they are talking to the wrong people, they can’t step up to VaShagare or just don’t know how to go about it.
Jere had a mouthful for Makomborero Mutimukulu last weekend, giving him a tale of the long journey they have travelled together.
Jere whisked Mako Gold away on a day some goons were sent to attack him and the Caps United owner feels The Sunday Mail Sports Editor has a duty to reign in VaShagare because the two are as good as brothers.

It’s their relationship, not mine.
One thing that the bosses at The Sunday Mail have not done is to ask me to cool off – they knew what they were getting when they contracted me to do this thing.
I come as I am. Raw.
I don’t need relevance or seek favours.
With Jesus I am enough!

Now as I am here, well until the end of the season when my contract will be under review, let’s get on with business.
Real business not this mumbo jumbo about who VaShagare is or is not.

As the season draws to an end, the usual question about who has been the best player in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has started flying around.

It’s highly emotional subject and the selection is never short of controversy, is it?
How do you explain all the top three player awards going to ZPC Kariba players last season?
It was a joke, a very sick one.

Admittedly we haven’t had a player who has really set the league alight, but lads such as Edmore Chirambadare, Brian Muzondiwa, Knox Mtizwa and Tatenda Mukuruva have given us something to marvel at.

Tafadzwa Kutinyu has been excellent for Chicken Inn, and for some reason Dominic Mukandi is yet to get the recognition he deserves despite dishing out some super stuff in the middle of the park for Makepekepe.

Stephen Makatuka has been solid all season. One wonders what the boy has to do to earn a national team call-up.I think there are about 40 players who are in with a shout for the XI Soccer Star of the Year nods and about five in with a shout for the big one.
Who are the five?

In no order – Mukuruva, Muzondiwa, Mtizwa, Kutinyu and Triangle’s Hillary Bakacheza are the five I believe deserve to wear the borrowed robes that Dennis Dauda is calling his.

For the Coach of the Year, it’s a toss up between Joey Antipas of Chicken Inn and FC Platinum’s Norman Mapeza.
Va Shagare exits the scene!
