HARARE CITY HORNETS coach Langton Moyo reckons replacing Tatenda “Dummy” Maturure is an impossible task.

Maturure dumped Hornets for his first love Raiderz in a shock move during the mid season break.

The effects of the move are expected to ripple throughout the league as well.

First, with Maturure’s departure, Hornets have lost arguably their biggest asset, a man who carried them during the first half of the season.

The Point Guard currently sits fourth on the top scorers’ charts with 130 points from the seven games he has featured in.

But the municipal side have to find a way of living without Maturure.

“There is no way of replacing Dummy,” said Moyo when quizzed about how he is planning for life without Maturure.

“The truth is there is no other player that can match him in scoring ability, leadership qualities and impact in big match situations.

“We have a lot of depth in the team and everyone will have to up their game.

We have to play more as a unit now to make up for his absence.”

Moyo and Maturure appear to have signed a secret pact as both gave almost identical answers as to why they partied ways so shockingly, so abruptly.

“There is no bad blood there,” said the Hornets’ coach.

“I view Dummy as a little brother and wish him well in his new adventure at Raiderz.”

Maturure too insists the separation was on cordial terms.

“It wasn’t about any friction or money issues as some would like to believe, but I just felt that it was time to move on.

“I started my career at Raiderz, it is home to me and it seemed only logical that it be my next and hopefully final destination.”
